Metcalf Group (SA) has a long and successful history of working with residential buildings both old and new. A leader in developing high quality homes, commercial buildings, retirement villages and other applications in South Australia, the Company is also a front runner in shop fit-outs as well as renovations for properties of any size and scale. With a 30-year-old family owned history, the Company has a strong focus on quality, safety and environmental care in everything it does.
For the first time in years, the Metcalf Group have the distinct privilege of looking inwards for themselves on a project. The new home must be renovated and rejuvenated whilst preserving an integral piece of local history. Now housing one of Adelaide’s best building companies, the estate home at 133 King William Road turns another page in its own history, one steeped in many memories and stories. Originally constructed in 1913, with a terra cotta tiled roof with decorative ridge tiles, tall slender chimneys, a rendered base course to the stone walls, strapped gables with stucco infill, leadlight window panes and a veranda incorporated within the roof pitch, this house remains an important indication of the type of residences constructed in the City Of Unley during the 1890’s – 1920’s.
